This is a full-time 12-month opportunity in the first instance.
Land Services SA (LSSA) is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to join us in delivering high quality services to the business in an exciting time of growth. The role is suited to those with 6+ year PQE working in legal private practice or as in-house legal counsel in a corporate environment. You will be someone who is comfortable working autonomously to assess legal risks and partnering with the business to achieve our collective objectives.
This role will provide focused legal support to all areas of LSSA. You will provide a full suite of legal services to LSSA including but not limited to the following: legislative and contract interpretation, tendering, leases and licences, contract and workplace law, dispute resolution, commercial transactions, M&A, privacy and intellectual property rights and liability issues. While you may be an expert in various areas of the law, you will have a demonstrated willingness to adapt your legal skills to new areas of practice and apply developing legal skills to solve problems in different areas of the law.
Reporting to the General Counsel and Company Secretary, and supporting the Board Secretary, your role will involve supporting the delivery of commercial objectives of LSSA, and leading the contract management function, as well as dealing with internal clients and external stakeholders directly. You will be supported with mentoring, training and supervision to develop deeper technical, commercial and business skills. You will also have the opportunity to develop your own mentoring and training skills working alongside a Legal Counsel.
