Role Overview

Land Services SA are seeking an enthusiastic Project Manager to join our dynamic team in Adelaide. Successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a project from inception to completion, all phases including design, planning, project execution, control and review. In this position you will work with multiple teams on a mixture of projects for both internal and external customers, where success means providing value to thousands of stakeholders per day.  Successful candidates will be exposed to current technology stacks, developing cloud based (AWS) solutions in an agile environment using a mature DevOps process.

The Project Manager is accountable to the Senior Project Manager for the planning, coordination and delivery of projects that comprise  implementation of IT solutions to time, cost and quality standards. The role will be positioned in the ICT team within the Project Management Office (PMO).

Land Services SA welcome applicants who have fulfilled adjacent roles to the Project Manager, have experience in ICT or software projects, and are looking to advance into a Project Manager role.

Main Responsibilities

  • Determining and managing the goals, objectives and competing priorities of assigned projects, systems and services including leading and managing change initiatives.
  • Resolving complex issues with innovative solutions that are consistent with project and business objectives
  • Effectively applying organisational project methodologies including agile and hybrid approaches
  • Providing expert advice and consultancy to senior management regarding current relevant developments and their potential implications to organisational policies and strategic plans
  • Contributing to a high standard of customer service for internal and external clients and quality management and risk.
  • Managing internal and external project resources/suppliers efficiently and effectively

Key Selection Competencies

  • Experience in or exposure to leading, motivating and influencing staff, driving and evaluation of work objectives for improved service performance across strategically aligned functions.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and ability to act with urgency.  Accept and expect responsibility, successfully manage and implement change and risk management initiatives and complex solutions within span of assigned projects.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to customers.
  • Advanced writing ability in delivering clear and concise project documentation and advice appropriate to the audience, e.g., through the development of business cases
  • Ability to effectively manage concurrent projects and tasks with competing priorities.
  • Experience in or exposure to Agile methodologies. Candidates with Agile certifications (e.g., CSM, Prince2Agile or similar) would be viewed favourably.

Special Conditions and Essential Requirements

  • Experience in or exposure to software development projects
  • Must be prepared to work outside of normal business hours
  • Interstate/intrastate travel may be required from time to time
